About Us

Why YEAA exists

At Youth Employment Assistance Australia (YEAA), we believe every person with disability of legal working age deserves the chance to experience all that employment has to offer — from social connection and economic participation to a sense of purpose and belonging. Our mission is simple: to walk alongside people with disability as they build the skills, confidence and support networks they need to thrive in meaningful work or work experience.

Our approach

YEAA isn’t a generic support service. We take an individualised employment approach, tailoring every step to the person’s strengths, interests and goals. We focus on practical skill development, job readiness, employer engagement and on-the-job support to make employment sustainable. This is about real-world outcomes — not tick-box programs.

The Expertise Behind YEAA

YEAA is led by Cherie Cordina

who brings nearly two decades of experience across disability support, mental health, recruitment, HR, coaching and training. Unlike many services that rely solely on support workers, YEAA blends hands-on disability expertise with professional qualifications in recruitment, training and career development. This means we can confidently support participants and their families through every stage of the employment journey — from preparing resumes to approaching employers and settling into a role.

We See Beyond Barriers

We see superpowers — the attention to detail, the unique perspectives, the loyalty, the drive. And we help young people bring those to life in the workplace, while also showing employers the value in hiring smarter and more inclusively.
